Why we hunt

sube

Well-known member
This well be my 49Th year swinging a coil I offend wonder why I keep doing it sharing a hunt with friends relaxation just being alone in my little world but it all comes down to your DNA you were made to hunt . This can be bow hunting gun hunting trapping fishing and so on they all have one thing in common the HUNT I like all the other sports I am involved in also but it's in your DNA to HUNT your always searching looking for the next .The friends relaxation being alone time away all come down to the most important reason why you do it and that is (THE HUNT) it's in your DNA.sube

I could not agree more,it’s internal. Either it’s there and can be awakened or it’s not. Just my take...

Good post, sube. I agree. I hunt, I fish, I like to find cool rocks, or arrowheads...bottom line, hunting/gathering IS instinctual for many of us, and detecting is just another way that this "instinct" manifests itself, from my perspective. I think you are spot-on.

Just like a bunch of old lady's that never held a gun fish pole or detector . Watch them when they get ready to hunt at Wal-Mart the trill of finding the best price or a bargain smiles giggles and satisfaction of a good hunt . We all have it in our DNA that's what drives us not the find the numbers were in it for the (HUNT) if we don't find what were looking for then we will hunt again because it's the (HUNT) we really want . sube

Good observation, sube.

I've seen many posts about what makes a 'successful' hunt, but in the end...with the right attitude...every hunt is a good one.
Here's to the hunt... :twodetecting:

Thank you for the beautiful post. Holding back a tear, seriously. And the older I get the more I appreciate these activities. Because it won't be much longer and it will be over for some of us. I'm hunting hard when I can.

I completely agree with all the comments and would add this.......(Nerd Alert).......I enjoy trying to get the detector to do the best it can for the conditions. An almost endless task.

No nerd alert Architex....you’re right, most all of us would agree we are constantly learning,observing,remembering,tweaking...all in order to feed the primary hunt by being better at it.

I was thinking that we could multitask. If we could only mount a Winchester 3030 to the shaft of the ctx 3030, we could metal detect and deer hunt at the same time. The ctx 30303030 over and under.
