Why the Tracker IV?

It seem like on this web site, BH has more stories about the Tracker IV finding items than any other in its line. Is that because BH sells more Tracker IV models than any other?

Yes, thats it. It is the perfect balance of price versus performance. I just bought one....had to return it because one knob was mounted crooked, but the actual performance of the unit was impressive. It will find most anything the spaceship type units will, but its got that put-the-key-in-the-car-and-go thing going for it that makes it appealing, especially in contrast to the more advanced machines such as you have listed in your posts as owning. http://metaldetectingforum.com/showt...ht=anniversary Be advised, the latest units manufactured have been changed a little bit. They now have the lower stem made of a fiberglass or plastic resin type material similar to that of the Fast Tracker model, which I also own, and the arm-rest assembly is now reshaped to resemble that of the Fisher units...but with very thin foam. Having said all that, I think the Fast Tracker unit has the most bang for the buck...being essentually a Tracker IV without a meter, which is actually a good thing as a Tracker IV's meter looks lost-in-space-stupid and serves no real purpose other than to make a perpetual clank noise while running the batteries down. Got my Fast Tracker for $49 delivered. There it is man...

Mutts changed the link on me....check this one out: http://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=12926&highlight=anniversary

Got mine inApril and haven't had a problem at all.
It's nice and light and just is a good allrounder machine.
I have found heaps of stuff, just check out my earlier posts on the trip to WA.
I didn't have the cash to buy a higher end machine and needed a simple turn on and go for my 7yr old boy use.
He cashed in a few kilos of cans and lead I have found over the years and put in the rest.
He's pretty happy with it.
HH and cheers

I would bet that BH has sold more of the TIV than any other single model from any other company. Like I said my hunting buddy has had his for a few years now.

I read a posting a few years ago about a fellow that does really well finding rings with his TIV. He sets the tone break so that a ladies, thin gold ring gives a good crackle and digs everything above and at that audio point.

Man, oh man. I about fell out of my chair when I saw the pictures of these Tracker IV finds.
And that was the first year ! Wow ! That is outstanding to say the least. I think I would be
afraid to use another detector when the Tracker IV can do this. These pictures sure would
make good publicity pictures for the Bounty Hunter folks. That's quite a spread !
Thanks for posting this. I am inspired. Good hunting to you ! Gene

That is one impressive haul for a year...I am lucky if I rake in 50 bucks in a year...lol

HH,

It adds up over here in Oz when the $1 & $2 coins are pulled out of old Davey jones locker.
The meter is pretty well useless and the use of good headphones with volume control really helps
to hear those 7" deeper targets. It lacks in depth but for the money it's a little ripper.
I use this detector for the dry sand and around old houses and do pretty well.
HH and cheers
