Why Stray from Combined mode?

For 99% of land hunting why would anyone stray from using Combined mode? Are there situations where using 50Co is a better option? Apart from personal audio preference? Would one mode hit harder then the other? Is one mode "Faster at processing" then the other?

I've used Open screen combined mode from pretty much every time I've been out...why would anyone change from that into using the Stock program (50Co with stock coin Disc)???

My ear are tuned into to hearing slight variation in ton change when using a discrimination pattern. In open screen, I prefer 2 tones. I called them "Ignore" and "Hey! Look at me!"

Would you use a phillips head screwdriver for all screws? Different situations call for different modes.I use two tone on older sites with iron. You wouldn't use two tones in a heavily used modern park would you? less tones mean less work for the processor so two tone is very fast compared to 50 co but would it be noticeable to you? I notice it espc compared to the etrac. as for combined, i feel using 50 co is better for me when using it on an older site as there are too many different types of target to just throw into 5 bins.

I use 50 co all the time. I just like the tonal range. On our finds in the uk when on fields many of our old coins come in at a pleasant lowish buzz which when heard points to a diggable signal. I also have a deus which works well for me, but much prefer the ctx sound.

I have only relic hunted on land other than the beach and I have tried and compared all modes in my really good soil.

When I get the really deep signals I will check each mode with the same open screen and for me I get about 1" more depth with the conductive progams and lately have been using 50 CO.

I also have found that open screen 50 CO gives me a signal even on the tiniest targets like percussion caps and I can identify them as well.

Not that I want to dig up that small stuff generally but feel if a machine hits those then something good like a 1 dollar gold coin (I wish) or even small buttons or even larger ones that are deep I will not miss anything.

A friend of mine that is a killer beach hunter uses combined on the beach exclusivly and I may as well, have not made up my mind yet.

These are just my results, any program like combined or the FE ones don't hit as good or as deep on the marginal targets and I suspect the CO ones gain even more advantage as the ground gets worse, JMHO, what do you guys think?

I havent moved from combined and I feel I am doing great. In heavy infested iron or wide open fields with little iron. I am finding it all with combined. I have tried 50 and TT but see no use for them in areas I hunt, which can be a ball field to an open corn field or even woods. I think when people say different modes for different situations, they just like to use all that the CTX offers. Combined is the way to go for me. I am in the 90's for silver coins already, and have a few dozen old coppers as well. Combined works pretty good.

Hey AJ when are we going to detect again?

I say do what works for you, for me combined is perfect, I learned all my sounds and that is it. 50 for me is way too much to listen to that is what took me forever to learn on the SE. TT to me is just too limited but it is preference. I think the CTX can handle 2 tones or 50 without any lag to the user. The lag occurs for me when I am overwhelmed with too much data. Just do what works try them all pick your favorite and learn it. Just my 2 cents worth of free advice

I agree. Unless I'm using quite a bit if discrimination, I don't use 50 tones.

Combined.

Where do we find the details for that mode?

n/t
