I like to rename my programs and not use the original names. The reason is so when I start hunting I can tell if I made any changes to the program from the last hunt. Let

Yeah it is the best way to keep track. For me its as easy as adding the words "tweaks" or "tweaked" before or after the stock name. Whatever the character count will allow, keeping it simple. Then I know what I built the program on.
I do get the impression people think they will mess up the Spectra.

I have programs stored to the point that I do need a reminder on what it is for. Most of them are for searching for specific items in difficult situations though and don't bother much with my main use programs. Aluding to Yt's "messing up the machine" in some peoples minds....I agree and just tell those folks to mess it up already as that is the only way to learn and show them how to reset the program. Confidence is rarely "turn on and go" (for anybody) so learn it at you own speed...the perfect speed.

I know all my programs also, but you still make changes each time out for each site. I just don't remember which ones I made when I am out the next time.
