Why are we wasting our time with these electronic metal detectors when we could be going after not only gold and silver but paper money treasure as well?

I want to gt one and use it to find the paper money D.B Cooper stole and lost somewhere near me here in Washington State.

M, By the looks of what that boy found back in 1980 or so, I would say that D,B,'s (ransom) money is long gone.

Besides wasn't it only 200K ! How long could you live on that? If you are gonna dream, DREAM BIG!!!!

So Dave... Dave Dave Dave...What treasure do you suggest I go after? $200k is better than the lead ball I found in July.

Mark, How close are you to a ghost town named Rogersburg, along the Grand Round River?

It seems that alot of treasure tales took place in that area.

Hone your detecting skills this fall and do some research this winter. go to your local library and check out some books to enjoy while you sit by the fireplace.

Here are some topics to look for:

Captain Ingallis - Lost Lake of Gold
Old Man Johnson's Kivley Farm Treasure
The Lost Shovel Creek Mine
The Lost Trio Mine
The Lost Doukhobor Mine
A gold cache buried near Omak
The Ruby Payroll Heist
a gold cache west of Moses Coule
A gold cave near Brewster
Parsley's Lost fortune
The Jester brothers gold bench

find a couple of these next year and you'll forget all about D.B. Cooper's lost, smelly, rotted, worm riddled, all but disolved, stacks of twenties.

Or you could nail a map to the wall of your garage and throw darts at it, which would be about as effective as your bright, shiney, plumbob method.

Take care, Dave

Even if you found it, there is a good chance that D.B.'s $200 K would be little more than moldy confetti whether it was protected in plastic or not, too far gone to be turned in for modern currency. Temp/climate change would cause condensation to form inside the plastic, not to mention what 30 years of decomposition would do. The only value would be the notoriety of being the guy that found D.B.'s loot. I'm sure you could get something for it on ebay though. JJ

Coopers money ended up in or near the Columbia or a tributery. It's all rotted away by now......

200K in twnties with about 40K of it found in ratty condition. I'd say that stack of bills is rotted molded and worm food long ago.
