Why no E-trac forum?

Steve from Ohio

New member
Seeing how the E-Trac is not an Explorer.......

And the Vision just got a forum of its own........

Why has not the E-Trac have its own forum?

Is it in the plans?

Steve----The Etrac does have its own forum and has had for some time now.--I was one of the first ones to post on it (can't remember the date).--Sure glad that most of the Etrac bashing is over with.---I still can't figure out why that occurrs when a new detector comes out.---Hope it doesn't happen (bashing) with the Vision.--I'm here as a part of enjoying this fine hobby.------Del

...not allowed to criticize the Vision or even compare it to other machines...posts get removed. I think the comment was, "buy one and compare it yourself". It will only cost you $300-400 to play that game.

Maybe D&P has more money than me (or doesn't care how its spent) because I sure as heck don't want to spend another $1500 on something that is being mis-marketed. I count 4 total threads criticizing MINELAB'S decisions with the E-Trac. They all were honest discussion about the new direction at MINELAB. I only see two posts that could be considered bashing and they're from a reputable guy who felt ripped off (and rightly so since the marketing said one thing and the company delivered another). The final remarks were in the vein of "if you like you're old detector then keep it". No kidding...ya think. The rosey-love story given to a certain detector on these forums cost me $1000. I vowed to do my best to present the good AND bad when I post about detectors, not type in all CAPS "I LOVE MINE" and "I FOUND A PIECE OF METAL IN A HUNTED OUT PARK" or "GO POST ON ANOTHER FORUM" or "I'M TIRED OF YOUR POSTS". None of that tells potential buyers enjoying the same hobby as me anything useful.

It's not a classroom on how to use the E-trac. I know people post that info on the other forum and that's ok. I was just curious as to the classroom forums. I often visit the Explorer forum and see E-trac postings there is all.

Steve---I see what you meant, an Etrac classroom forum.---That's a great idea-wish they would do it.-----Del

I would like for someone to post some of the audio signals received and the meaning. It is, after all, type of "language" and it's up to us to be able to interpret what is being said. I know that those who have perfect pitch abilities have an edge over us who don't, but like any language, you CAN LEARN! I need something like Berlitz or Rosetta Stone CD that I could listen to over and over until I can speak and interpret the language. I have been waiting since 2004 for one for the EX II and now I need one for the E-trac.

And if the settings are able to be shared and downloaded, where are the sites that I can get a couple to try. I am finally retired and ready to give my time to this hobby. I just need some assistance in getting really good programs for my detectors.

Thanks.
