Why is there such a long cable on the 8x9 coil?

I think those cables are more for hip mounting

a control box.

Glad I don't have one.

Lots of wraping.

HH,

I can't see that hip mounting a uMax is needed. Plus maybe a 5 or even a 6 foot cable would be needed. Just in my test garden and air tests I see no noticeable difference in the stock 8 inch compared to the 8x9 coil. In fact I believe the 8 inch coil gives me a better target response. Plus it's lighter.

I like the 8" stock coil on my SS uMax.

It has very good depth and sensativity,

and the seperation is good also.

HH,

I had the same thing on my 5.75 coil. I sent it in to Tesoro and they shortened it for free.

Yes, WHY is the long cable model coil made?? Hipmounting?

P.S. Talking about "long", has anyone tried this 18" x 3.6" Widescan DD coil? http://www.tesoro.com/product/coils/cleansweep/
