Why is it when a movie has a metal detector in it, The detector is all Wrong!?

The scene in the remake of the 1970's horror movie The Fog.
The scene in the first National Treasure movie.
whenever a movie has a scene with a metal detector being used to find treasure, It is always the garbage radio shack Micronta metal detector, you know the one that is all black that has the useless "red button" on the handle.
And whenever the metal detector being shown in the movie makes a sound. The sound that is emitted is so wrong. It sounds like a device from the movie Aliens, or Ghost busters, or the game PAC-man.

Whats up Hollywood. for the budget cant you go out and get an Ace-250? LOL
