Why is it that...

you always see F-75's, F-70's and F-5's and 4's always up for sale or trade, but hardly ever see a CZ-3D or CZ-5 up for sale? Is it that there have been more of these F series machines manufactured, which would make sense? Maybe that's it, I don't know but I have my own take on this and would like to hear what others think.

Thanks,
Gary

I believe it's because Fisher overhyped those machines and when they were purchased they didn't live up to the hype. Not that they're not good machines-just not the holy grail. The CZ's have always been known as good machines, but they are just better than advertised.

A CZ is basically a turn on and go unit and over the years since 92 has proven itelf and of course much input allowed users to learn the unit for max. efficiency.

On the other hand the F70 and F75 are basically the new kids on the block with new bells and whistles and its going to be a while before one can use these units to max. efficiency as it has a learning period from the get go but imagine over time with input and trial and error in the field many will learn them well and of course updates needed also added to the learning period but imagine over time the new bells and whistles will be learned and the F series will become Fishers top sellers replacing the old technology CZ units.

In other words once Fisher gets the bugs out of their new units and detectorists catch on how to use them for max efficiency it will all come together. Do remember many units are sold because the average detectorist resists a learning period no matter what outfit manufactures them and not because they are not good units and of course personal preferences must also be dialed in.

In addendum all units have plus and minus features and no perfect detector as if there was we would all have one and other manufacturers would be out of business..
