Why is Fisher so slow to.................

Ivan

turn out a variety of coils for the F 75?? You get an OK detector and then make it a lame duck, by not producing any smaller coils??? How about a 4" size or a 7" for hunting those extremely trashy areas ..... this has kept me and a few of my friends; from trying one of these. I just don't understand how Fisher just doesn't get it!!!!!!!

I think Fisher does get it, a smaller coil is in the works. Having been involved with production a little myself, producing something does not happen over night. Particularly, if you want to produce a product that is right. Have a little faith and hang in there. Those of us that have the f75 are just as anxious for the small coil as you are. In the mean time, though, the stock coil is finding an awfull lot of goodies for us. HH jim tn

Because they have not sold enough units to make the introduction of a small coil a good business decision. Keep asking them.
Too many people still think that the F75 is just a souped up T2. Maybe folks will start to realize that the F75 only look's like a T2 but is not a T2.

I am doing my part by ordering my F75!

The coil will come.

this is understandable given the astronomical price they ask for this detector!..granted it takes alot of money to bring this dtector to market, and certainly people have to be paid, and development costs have to be met!.unfortunately in today's economy it IS difficult for well meaning folks to afford such technology, however if you really want to be a player, you have to find a way financially to get involved

(peace!

Certainly a marketting decision...have to see how well they perform and sell and sure are pricey..I would think they already have a prototype and if Fisher sees how the unit sells and the demand for a small coil a decision will be made when and if they will come out with acc. coils...

I think you will find that once Fisher/First Texas get the new business structure in order that things will be fine. The F4 and F75 have got the venture off to a good start. Releasing the CZ21 is near and probably has some of the focus.

Be patient. :sadwalk:

If you look at White's they made so many coils and now look where they are, they have nothing new and it seems they have dropped far back from the leader.

Fisher on the other hand really made a big splash with the F75 really changed the way we hunt in iron and trash has great depth and can be programed.

I think Fisher feels the way to get more miles on this machine is to delay its coils. That way a year or so later new coils new reports and the F75 lives a bit longer till we see the next new machine.

All the other companies are going to try and come out with something new in the next year, so maybe we will have a lot to look forward too.

And just maybe Fisher is making a killer coil for the F75 one that is as advanced as the standard coil. So I will give Fisher the time they need. In Calif we can hunt all year long but for you guys in other parts if the country there is only a few months of hunting left.

Would be a nice Christmas gift.

I'll pick my F-75 for trashed out sites over my Tesoro 4" or my new Id Edge 5" every time. It just does a better job. I can hunt downtown parking meter poles and sidewalk strips, trashed out city parks and wino lots better with the F-75 than any other detector I've used to date. All you have to do is be willing to turn down the sensitivity.

I'm not brand loyal. I like using different metal detectors and usually outfit with accessory coils, but I'm finding that the response speed of the F-75 is ruining me when it comes to other mfg's machines. They are just too slow and slow machines have to have smaller coils in trash. I think we are too used to using slow responding machines. I also think we are not used to machines as hot as this one.

First Texas will be releasing a small coil soon just because every one else does and the consumer base has been brainwashed into thinking every machine has to have one. This particular consumer knows better. For the F-75, the only plus a smaller coil will provide is the ability to poke it into places where the stock coil won't fit, and that will be good. But it won't be any better in trash than whats already on the unit.

It might be a lot better in Calif soil no one will know till it comes out on this fast machine and then we will all find out what it can or can't do.

I think it will make a difference to make the F75 unstopable

well..maybe a light rinse

Sure the T2/F-75 are killers in iron/trash, especially when compared against detectors that use 8"-9" concentric coils. I won't argue that!

Small coils are a must have in heavy trash regardless of the detector!

Gee, Tom D says that in heavy trash it work best with the highest sens possible.

I think Dave J knows more about this subject that he could tell us.
Some people like to crank a beeper up and listen through a lot of noise. Other people like to calm things down and impose less of a workload on the ear and brain. Neither way is right or wrong, it's personal preference

Tom

And I'm often wrong, just ask my wife :)

The point I'm really trying to make is that we just assume we must have a small coil to hunt in trash and the F-75 is proving to me that I don't.

I also think that a competitor releasing a smaller coil (which they actually absolutely do need to hunt trash) fuels some of the unrest about the F-75's lack of one.

Happy :detecting:

And this has happended more then once I happen to hit a old wheat down about 6" I rolled it out of the ground and lost it. I was getting the iron tone but lost the wheat. The iron masked it right out as I rolled it right on top of a piece of iron a few inches down cause after I found it on my hands and knees I pinpointed the target and up came a nice piece of rusty iron. Another time it was a rusty bottle cap. The other times I just used my Pocket Probe and found them. The F75 does fine in the mild Iron trash but not the heavy stuff. I will be glad when they get the new small coil. Hell I almost went back to the truck to get my Golden. I did put a new 5.75" coil on the Golden and like it just fine. I will PM you and tell you a real bad story about my Golden and TESORO I am still P.O. It will never go back there again. I had a guy over in Texas Ed Fowler fix the thing for me. I will tell you it went back to Tesoro 3 times and they never got it right. Anyway I don't want to get started on that one. I know your Golden will never be Homless. Mine with the 4" coil and the 5.75 " ain't going anywhere. Later Bud ,Glad you are enjoying your F75. It is one heck of a detector and I love :cheekkiss: Mine. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

Dave has it right for sure.

:cool:Aw shoot!:angry:I thought you meant they had a new WEB PAGE:rolleyes: I am really tired of the old one. Actually I wish all the companies would update their web pages!

But it won't be any better in trash than whats already on the unit

I have an F75 ordered but have used a T2 for over a year and I feel the same way about the T2, the stock coil is so fast to reset, any faster would be too fast to be useful. My brain does not work that fast...

IYO, is the F75 better than the T2 in tron and trash? I am not sure whether I prefer a Tejon with the 5.75 coil or the T2, the Tejon is much quieter and hits on all the good stuff... i guess it's is just easier but maybe not better.

I am getting my F75 tomorrow I hope and will be using it for a while to learn it.

J

I was all ready to jump in there with you on this one until I remembered that I had not updated my web page in a year or so.

But yes, it seems like Fisher or First Texas would take a good hard look at their Fisher website. To say the least, would be to say that most people would think that Fisher could be a little more professional there.

Again I'll say that hopefully they are just busy making great new products.

HH Alton

Sweeping a small coil

always seems frustrating to me as i know i am missing lots of ground which means less finds. I always find more coinage with the standard coils. I have a teknetics mark 1 with a 7.5 coil which seems to be the best compromise size for target separation coupled with reasonable ground coverage. small coils like the 5 and 6 inch coils are not too good and get crap depth... The 7.5 coils are just great on trashy sites and give 6 inches depth.
