..... Because you find lots of coins and cool old stuff. BUT - its just too HOT to hunt down this way in August. Dangerous Heat Levels. A few member PMs asked me to show some of my relic display cases.... ok. Kinda bored so here are some pics from some of my finds over the last few months. I do love those Tot-Lots and Soccer Fields!!!! Coin paradise. Guessing easily over $200 in clad alone. I'm also lucky to live in a spot where there were a few Civil War Battles. (Note: the Box Plate shown in the larger CW Relic display case was purchased from another forum member). Thanks for looking and I need cooler weather.... CCH

Thanks. Just too hot here right now to do any real metal detecting. Hoping to get REALLY cranked up next month for sure when some cooler weather arrives (hopefully). CCH.

Very impressive finds! Although I come across many relic items, I'm a gold and silver hunter primarily and not a relic hunter but I can see you have some very cool finds there!!!
You will find me on the beaches most of the time but I have found some really nice rings and jewellery etc; in the tot lots, sand pits and parks in general.
I decided to detect some parks for a change this last week and it really was a thrill to detect in earth as apposed to sand and sea!! I use the clad I dig to pay for snacks,drinks,parking meters and entrance fees to places that require it so that's good to collect. I will also pay a visit to the CoinStar machines in the grocery stores once in a while to cash in the clad although there is a 9-10% commission, it saves me rolling all those coins and taking them to the bank!!!
Yes, I love this hobby as well and it is very unique in the fact that it pays you back!!!....not many hobbies that do that!! I love to meet the many people we all do and they don't irritate me like some others because I learn from others and it opens the doors to more finds and more joy!! One last benefit is you don't need to pay big bucks for a spa/fitness club membership because you get a really good workout every time you go out for free!! HH everyone and keep swinging!!!
