Why I like my Master Hunter:detecting::garrett:

CX Plus so much, OK it's out of production, they not gonna make any more-that's beside the point, allright It and the Scorpion suit my kind of detecting perfectly, allright no notching- I don't want to notch, dig bout everything, but if i am discriminating somthing out, it still ID's visually without sound what's probly there, (oh yeah on coins it's usually runs bout 85% right on depth and coin)It'll hit on nickles at 10" with 7x10 coil, 4 1/2 sniper 8", that's purty gud my book, belt buckle size stuff 7x10"-20" sniper 15"=decent.
Now on a .5 gram nugget(yeah I got one once) the 7x10 hits at 4" and the lil sniper at 2 1/2".
The battery life is good, it's a lil heavy, but the balance is perfect without the armrest, just let it dangle in the fingers, works great, don't even need to bend the arm, there's other things I like bout it, but don't want to hog space, not many don't likes, just a dandy detector for an Ol' Geezer, But then again We got the Scorpion, Ahh yess, but can I have 2 favorite detectors? yes. Scorp is just near 2 times as deep on most things, this is my take on my Garretts, and I like em, this is how MY detectors operate anyway !!!

I agree with you Buger. I tend to use something until it's worn out or broke. I love my CXIII w/Power Master and quite frankly never considered it heavy because it is balanced so well. Besides, it's nothing compared to lugging around a chainsaw all day. In my neck of the woods if I complained about its weight I'd be labeled a sissy.

As for depth on targets, perhaps the newer instruments do go deeper, but my bet is it's not by much. And for all the bells and whistles I'm like you, I dig it all. Had a few surprises too!!.

Cheers

That may take a while. I have the original Grand Master Hunter with the analog meter and it is still going strong. I did buy the At Pro mainly because of the weight, but the GMH is a keeper and a very good backup.

:wave:Another Grand Master Hunter fan here!:garrett::detecting:Great machines!:thumbup:I've still got my old Original GMH, which was the very first metal detector that I ever bought(back in '89). It's still goin' strong even though it's been beat to hell.:lmfao: It's not my main unit, but I enjoy swingin' it around on occasion.:wiggle:I even found a nice lil' nuggy with mine last summer. It is the deepest seeking VLF metal detector that I have ever used(while properly ground balanced in All Metal Mode). I also have the CXll and CXlll w/PowerMaster. Love 'em all.
.....and don't forget, guys. The GMH still target IDs in All Metal Mode.:cool:Happy Hunting!:)

I too like the balance of the MH CX. It just kind of floats on your fingers....Mine got some nice relics in the past.
