I know a lot of you like finding coins and rings in the water BUT have you ever wondered what you missed? I like finding most everything. From the Hudsinson bottles with the brass stoppers, toys (especially the old lead ones) old wood fishing lures, badges, Zippo lighters, tools and other interesting stuff.
About 3 weeks ago I pulled up a civil war bayonet
I found this WW2 German wound badge in a lake a few years ago
I found this gun also a few years ago and the second gun I found yesterday.
I have two of these and one from a company in Ohio. Was offered 50.00 each for them.
If they dropped it, unlike the ground it disappeared in sand or silt or muck. I have lots of old toy cars, trucks and planes. I would say 99% of my finds are in water under 10' deep. The main reason I dive is to relax and be able to see what I am waving my hand over to discover.
I have a Detroit Jitney Driver license from 1922, a very old pair of handcuffs, lots of knives.
This machine looks like a GREAT machine BUT, if you let the display decide if you are going to dig or not, you really could be missing out on wonderful underwater finds. I will be buying one of these critters for land, BUT for me it has very limited water ability only because I like to dig anything. Sure I get tons and tons of can slaw. but its way easy to dig in the water and you just never know what was dropped off a dock that is long gone or on a boat that tipped in shallow water .
