Why don't Tesoro do this?

I think they ought to make the machines that's available for the European market available for purchase in the states I would love to give a few of them a try. Is there a reason for them not to do this?

I'm just guessing that those models are exclusive to the European distributors, therefore if Tesoro sold those in the USA, it would be a breach of contract.

I suppose if ya wanted one bad enough, a guy could contact a dealer overseas and buy one, I've heard of guys buying other brands of European detectors and having them shipped here.

Just costs more with the shipping and Euro exchange rate.

I had thought of buying overseas but would rather buy here in the states. It may be a breach of contract. I know when you see one come up for sale here in the states they sell quick.

Aside from any possible legal concerns, the overseas machines are probably tuned for European conditions that maY not necessarily be the best for US conditions. Just a guess, but I thinking its more than just a contract issue.
Cheers

They have iron and mineralized soil over there and I have iron and mineralized soil where I live in Georgia. I wish Tesoro would chime in on here and give a definitive answer as to why they can't do this. There's been quite a few manufacturers that released their European machines over here in the states for sale and they have had a great following. Just saying Tesoro may be missing out on extra sales here in the states. I've also read that some of the machines produced overseas have had pretty good success over here in the states.

Strange thing is a lot of manufactures based in the USA market machines in Canada that don't work on our Canadian "iron" clad

Never mind Europe , there a huge missed market up here

What's the life of your iron clad being in the ground up there in Canada? Does it rust away or what?

I have found clad coins from 1969 up. because of the different compositions over the years, some nickels look orange like in the US.
Other clad coins look like dulled silver coins, somewhat of a dirty grey color. Others come up, with a dot of rust, others almost look like they haven't been in the ground.
They dn't fully rust out as you might think. The nickel plating over the steel core is quite robust. Lots of them just need the dirt cleaned off and are spendable.

The pennies come up the same as in the US, the zinc ones just corrode away like battery acid was spilled on them.

Thanks for the info Sven, does the Canadian coinage on a tone machine give iron tones or a medium tone like a US nickel?

Hey 88junior

I was just on the phone with Rusty Henry this morning and he confirmed what I said in my first post.

The black color is exclusive to European line of Tesoro metal detector models.

He said the black color is the only difference between the USA models and the European models, same detectors, different color is all.

He also mentioned that one model had a switch to change from a fixed ground balance to manual ground balance.

Other than that they are same in the electronics, really nothing special other than the color.

Hombre look up the Euro Sabre and read it's features and tell me which US machine has the same exact features and I will buy one.

Over here in the UK we do have access to the Tesoro models that you folks across the pond use but they are mainly biased towards your type of detecting,a classic example is what use is a detector that has a screen on it but shows US icons ??? not alot really,Tesoro produce a general product range for the European market and of course the clue which models these are is the wording 'Euro' and these i would have though have a slightly modified internal setting, what exactly these are i dont have a clue but they work and work well.

But then we get onto the UK Tesoro detectors, these do use of course the Tesoro branding name and yes we have models like the Tejon etc but once again the UK model are slightly different to the US version, then we get onto the dedicated UK detector range that comes under the brand name of Lasor they are built by Tesoro but imported by company setup by a guy called Frank Mellish and the company was called Treasure World, these Lasor detectors that are imported basically use the same componets and look exactly the same as the US Tesoro range but had internal tweaks to suit our ground conditions and also our wide variety of finds going back 1000s of years.I think i am right in saying these started being imported in the mid to late 80s so they are not a new product range.

A couple of the most popular range of these imported machines are called the Lasor B1 and Lasor B3 these are still popular among the old school of detectorist and they are still very sort after machines as they are about as good as it gets discrimination wise on our junky roman and saxon sites, you dig very little iron,of course if its big iron then of course it will give a signal to any machine. But as a general rule it will only beep if its a good target, they are not the deepest machines going but as most finds are in the top 6-8'' then it wont miss much.

The B1 and B3 machines that i have mentioned are like your Bandido model with the plastic lunch box control box, they are not high tech machines or sexy machines too look at but its the qiality finds that go into your finds bag that counts and these Lasor model do exactly that,it has accounted for some the best finds that the UK offers until more modern machines have come onto the scene.

If you have any questions regarding either Tesoro or Lasor model over here in the UK,if i can help answer the questions i will do so,i will leave you with one last comment,my Laser B3 does not have any fancy features on it but it always finds me and other stunning finds but at the end of the detecting day i come off my site/s with a massive smile on my face as its been really enjoyable day and in my mind that is what detecting is all about.
