Why doesn't the G2 have a volum control?

Can any one clue me in on why the G2 doe's not have a volum up or down control, other cheaper modles do?

T2 and G2 are completely different electrical and software platforms.

Despite its 19 kHz operating frequency, the G2 has a very good reputation for beach work, just remember to put a plastic bag over its head to protect it from corrosive air.

I don't usually answer "why" questions-- they have nothing to do with what a product is, what it does, or what it costs. But the one about "volume control?" is real easy-- the design philosophy of the new GB/G2 was to reduce the user interface to the bare minimum necessary, even though it took a lot of complexity in software to make that external simplicity work well.
