Why does the T2 cost less than the F75

Hwy 395

New member
I know there are some differences in the way they ID iron, but why is the Teknetics brand detectors usually $200 less than the equivalent Fisher detectors? They are both made by First Texas. Does Fisher just have more brand power, so they feel justified in charging more? Or are there actual, significant differences that warrant the increase in cost?

T2 has a few less features than the F75. To me not enough to keep me from getting a T2. F75 is back lit, has one more search mode i think and i believe saves your settings when you power off. what i understand just a few minor process differences thats about it, Im sure someone will chime in with more info.

The F 75 and F 75 LTD also have a couple more tone choices. I had both the T 2 and F 75 and while both are deep, the F 75 is the deeper of the two and probably will be between the LTD's as well. HH jim tn

Dankowski says the F75 LTD is deeper than the T2 LTD. Seems like both detectors would get about the same depth...

Mainly due to the control they have over iron and for their relic and old town site hunting, they didn't get better depth with the F-75. For their purposes and anticipated depths on buttons and coins and trade tokens and such, the T2 was preferred.

In the long run, "depth" is an often touted topic or claim of performance, but a lot depends upon what types of targets the detectorist i after, the site environment they are hunting in, and what the anticipated results are. If you're only going to recover solid, lock-on Target ID's then you're not going to achieve maximum functional depth with most detectors.

For anyone to provide an educated answer, they would have to be familiar with all models considered and hen compare them at the same sites and on the same naturally located targets to know the difference in performance. All else is simply a best guess or imagination.

I had a F75LTd.... I use a A T2, and I had a F75................ I only coin hunt. T2 was deeper on coins than the F75..More stable, and better in iron. (MY Experience) The F75 LTD is deeper than the T2.. It should be!. I am trying to buy a T2LTD ........I hope it's the same principle as standard T2 on coins and reaches or exceeds the F 75LTD on coins. Mike Scott says the T2 LTD is the deepest he ever used..........I will say this the T2 was the best Coin detector I have ever used.:teknetics:

Elton----I always wondered why you let your T2 go---do you regret getting rid of it?----I know I've had a couple of machines that I wish I would have kept.----In any case, you're perking my interest on a T2 LTD!!  --------Del
