Why did I try to put this set together ????

When the state quarters were released in 1999 I thought it would be a nice project to attempt to put together the full collection via detecting finds. Well, 13 years later I'm still trying to complete the set. I'm down to needing just two, Utah and Oklahoma. The last couple weeks I've concentrated on digging clad coins in hopes of finding the final two quarters. Well, 78 quarters later I still haven't got them !!! The odds are stacked against me. The odds of finding a state quarter seem to be about one in four and then if I do dig a state quarter, the odds are only one in fifty that i might find one I need. It could take years to find the last two !!!! Nice thing is I've found about $25.00 in clad the last three outings.

[size=large]according to my sister-in-law there are more thanone collection. you have the fifty with the D mint mark then the 50 w/ the S mint mark. can't say if there's any P or O out there.

anyone know for sure? just last yr. i started the collecting also and came up 9 short. so far this year i'm way far behind.
