Why can i run sensitivity @ 32 one day and only 25 the next

at the same site after using noise cancel? Also, when u use noise cancel, where should you position the coil;?

I have never been able to run my sensitivity @ 32 or even close to that, maybe 27 at the most.

And if you can run at 32 you must be in semi auto. Those days you can only get to 26 you are really only running at about 14 manual.

Actually had very little chirping running on manual.....just a lucky day. We must have good soild here as I am always running as hot as possible.

id be shocked if i could run mine at 30 anywhere in my area. Its not only EMI, but the mositure levels in the ground will also change how the minerals react. Sometimes more is not always the answer. If there is deep iron or trash you would significantly reduce your depth unless you are in AM. Any disc would cause your coil to reduce sensitivity everytime it hit a disc target. Lets not even talk about hot rock reaction. I ran mine today at 25 and with the wet ground i was hitting 00 31 HOT ROCKS a lot just because there wasnt a deep topsoil base. Id say what you are experiencing is common.

It isn't soil conditions that cause you to have to run lower but electrical noise. I'm guessing you must be far from power lines and civilization. I've run at 30 before but only way out in the country.

i tried out my Explorer xs on some pasture fields about 2 weeks ago and the sensitivity ran quit fine at 32 manual with just a bit of chatter. but i have bean searching lately in ploughed fields and can only at the most push it at about 22 manual.
i guess the pasture fields must be a more stable & cleaner ground.

The explorer doesnt care much for disturbed soil... even mole holes will interupt the signal. EMI does cause excess noise, but at those sensitivities the soil or even bumping the coil causes false signals. I think the beach was the only place i could get 30. But maybe my stable isnt the same as your's... and i know all machines are made equal.
