Why not? I was killing time, not wanting to get to far from the truck because rain was coming soon. I ended up hunting about 2 hours and out in the middle of no where I find these![attachment 58198 img081.jpg][attachment 58199 img082.jpg] Got to love silver..woohoooo

Man what a find. Congrats !!!!

The coins are kinda worn but the dates and mints are very good. It was about a mile hike to the old log cabins on this site but since the rain was coming in and I was there anyway, I thought why not. I will have to hike into the cabin sites on a clearer day. This was found at the front end of a 300 acre piece of land. As far as the owner knows, this has always been pasture land. The dime was only about 4" deep, the half was about 7". I found only 4 other signals that were trash...very quiet hunting and I was swinging a little faster than normal trying to cover ground. I almost didn't dig the half..when pinpointing it went to negative numbers like iron and all arrows showed max. But it hit a very good and solid 44 ID. Glad I dug that one for sure.

Ed, those are some great finds! I have had very good luck in fields, especially around houses. Kids played in fields, men worked and cut hay, people worked in the gardens and they all lost things. The best thing...not much trash except the occasional piece of lead or tractor part. You did well and that's some good silver. Ron
