Who's with me on wanting this?

I would love to see a 5" DD coil released from Garrett for my AT-Gold! I have the 5x8" already and love it but there's a few places I hunt that I believe a 5" DD would pay for itself. I don't care much for concentric coils due to the lesser separation abilities.

I am with you on this. I don't care for concentric coils. But don't think Garrett is going to make a 5" DD coil. I have a 5" DD NEL Sharp on order for the AT-Gold.

Yeah I have been thinking of buying one of the Sharp coils myself. If you can when you get it give us your thoughts on it. I hate to go that route but if Garrett isn't going to produce one I guess I'll have to.

I would only be able to do air tests as the ground is solid as a rock in my neck of the woods. Hope that will do for now. GS

For me , i have bad soil and think the DD coils are better in bad soil . And i know it's not much at all but the 5" is a slightly larger but not noticeable that much. I just like how DD's work. GS

The sniper coil is a concentric coil which means it has a rounder field of detection as with a DD it has a narrower field of detection which means it going to separate targets better. They also handle mineralized soil better.

John that link takes us to the ATX forum.

No thank you for posting the article on the coil differences!!
