Who's using the Bullseye pinpointer?

A while back there were some issues with the
Whites Bullseye pinpointer. Has that been resolved?

Is anyone Whites pinpointer? I know a lot of people
are using Garretts Pro-pointer but just how reliable is
The bullseye?

I've been using mine for nearly 6 years now and it's never let me down. I owned a Garrett Pro pointer as well, but sold it. It's a great pin-pointer, I just preferred the way the Bulls Eye operates. Just my opinion.

I use the Bullseye
and like it. I had 3 Garretts and sold them, they interfeard with my MXT. Now i have a Minelab pointer and it dose the same thing, not as bad. I am still going back to my Bullseye. It don,t go as deep as the others but i still like it better. I had the older Bullseye and up greder to the new one and went back to the older one. I need to stay with one, you think? I just can,y get happy.I hope if Whites makes a new one that the on/off switch stays on till you trun it off. Once you use a pinpointer awhile you can,t do without one. Good luck Flintstone

that one could be my next pointer, the fight here is between the bullseye and the vibraprobe, but don't need it yet

Once you go to the DX-1, you'll never go back to any other pinpointer. It's like a mini 1" coil. Best thing since......sliced bread. HH, Nancy

I have heard the DX-1 is more durable than handheld pointers too, how it is about weight? does it is noticeable?. I read somewhere that some folks like to mount the probe besides the control box, I think that reduces inertia while swinging

I have it mounted on the rod and it's not heavy at all. I've used it in seeded hunts too when you need speed. Love it!!!! HH, Nancy

nice. I forgot another advantage, it's almost impossible to lose :)

Topo, I almost put that as a BIG bonus, but didn't. I know of a couple people that have lost their penpointers and they weren't the cheap kind either. Another bonus for the DX=1. HH, Nancy

I have heard those sad stories too. Some people have their pointers painted with glow paint to avoid that

Another bonus about the DX-1 is that it provides all the same information as a regular coil and you don't have to see all the nails and iron in the hole while your using it. It shows all the information on screen as well. It VDI's more accurately than some coils since it looks at much less at a given time. My D2 may show a rusty chunk of iron as (???)vdi chirps, grunts, its just not sure. But when the DX-1 is scouring the hole it knows what its looking at and is more accurate. Plus, if there are several mixed range of targets in the hole, the DX-1 separates better than anything and you can look at each target one by one, retrieving only what you're after.

Larry has the Garret's when using his CTX 3030 and I told him to tape it to a bungee type spring cord and he did. The other end has a snap link to go on his belt loop. Even a painted end might not stand out in tall grass or a field where they had corn, etc. He wishes Ralph could come up with a pinpointer to go with his Minelab, but they won't as of now. HH, Nancy

interesting, something like this

great idea to paint a bright color ,my bullseye works great its the first one i ever owned and couldnt see room for improvement . it never lies although sometimes i end up with a handfull of BB sized rocks and cant tell which one is metal ,usually a fragment of a bullet

Garret doesn't interfere in Relic mode like C/J mode for some reason, maybe Relic mode uses a lower frequency. I like the Bullseye and Garret, the bullseye can be opened and there is a pot inside you can adjust to increase depth. I did this and it worked alot better.

I have been using one of these for a couple yers now.... Works great, and when I am done detecting it's good for those honeydo's around the house...:heh:

I've been using a TinyTech pinpointer since the late 90's and it still works well but only is good for about an inch. When I bought a Fisher F75SE it came with the Sunray FX-1 pinpointer and I really like it . It goes about 3 inches deep and helps when popping ou shallows coins.

So I just ordered a new Sunray DX-1 for my MXT Pro. Should be delivered on July 3. Just in time for the 4-day holday.
