I just got power back on after 7 days. We didn't get the destruction that they got in Houston, but half of the houses in my neighborhood has trees down. I heard Houston had a million with out power,, we had over 300 thousand, and some still don't have power.

I had plenty of camping equipment, lanterns,, generator . It become natural to walk to the bath room or kitchen and click the coleman lantern on. :) I don't watch much tv so that was not a problem,,, but I sure missed my computer.. Boy, what a geek I have become.

good to see you guys again

Charlie,

Sorry that you had to experience all those inconvenieces as a result of Hurricane Ike..glad to know that you are OK

Ike came through Evansville full force, we were lucky to have only lost power for three hrs, there were thousands without power for up to four days, I've got three acres partially wooded and didn't lose a single tree, just a lot of dead wood on the ground, damage seemed to be worse in neighboring warrick county, in the town of Newburgh..............
