Who would buy a 14" to 15" coil made for a CZ?

I have the need for some very deep hunting and would love to have this capability for a CZ machine. Would anybody else out there fork out the cash if Fisher or Sunray made one of these? Maybe beg Sunray to bring back the 12.5"?

I think the Sunray was a 10.5 and went deeper and surely covered more ground. Why Sunray discontinued I don't have a prayer..
As far as 14-15 inch coils don't want to swing a garbage can lid and even the stock 8 goes as deep as I want to dig..

The Sunray is a 12.5" incher. I've personally found it to be a GREAT park hunter, although I wouldn't use it in an ultra trashy area.

When I went looking to buy one and the dealers who advertised them had no stock left, I called Sunray, talked to Ralph and he said there were no plans to do another run. That was a while ago. I did find a used one in very good shape I think about two years ago. I like the FZ-12 coil a lot with the CZ6a on the beach.

I agree with Dan-Pa I wouldn't want to swing a coil that large either. I was doing that this summer when my 8in stop working on a compass pro. I had the 12 inch so I used it. At 50 I felt that and it cut hunting time down as I tried easy. And I don't want to dig any deeper as well. !0 inches is more than enough! steve

Not me.
I have been after a FZ-12 for a while without any luck so fare.

There was a sweet deal on a 15" WOT coil on eBay just weeks ago and a GT to go with it.
A 180 meter and Sun Ray probe was also there at the same time.
I now have all the depth I can handle.

However should a FZ-12 pop up, then I'm in.

Ivan someone here had a source for the FZ-12. Maybe try a separate post on the CZ forum in search of the FZ-12 and see if the guys responds with his source

I don't think you can receive private messages yet since you just joined recently. I think there are new parameters invoked where you have to have either a certain amount of posts or have been a member for a certain amount of time before the private message functionality works.

Just to let everyone know that Ivans christmas wish for the fz12 coil has come true ,and the only one left is his ,no others are available that i know of till sunray makes them again, Happy holidays to everyone Earl

For coverage and depth increase on beaches or large fields..Never heard of a 14 but the Sunray 12(out of production) gave both...

Don't get caught up in coil size, unless you have popeye forearms.
They wear you out quickly when you swing the big ones.
You can go deeper with a larger coil providing you're not in trash areas or at a beach with bits of rust
every-damned where. You can literally find a dime in wet sand at about 24+ inches deep with cz3d with a big coil.
Relic hunters find them quite useful. The main advantage is dept and being able to cover more ground quickly.
I have one but rarely use it because of the trashy areas that I hunt.

No. Something in the 10" range is about maximum for me. I've tried a few in the past on various detectors. Recently, I picked up an S-12 coil for my sovereign. The coil worked great and I could cover a lot of territory, however the majority of my hunting is around old homes that have a 100+ yrs of odds and ends in the yards. I decided despite it being a very popular coil with other sovereign users, it was just a little too big to fit the kind of hunting I spend the vast majority of my time doing.
