How many of you sold your V3I's or Etracs or F75's to go back to the beep and dig simplicity and are you happy with your choice?

i sold my etrac and got the vaquero and i am very happy with my choice! its the best detector ive ever used. clad king

Well kind of? I sold a Teknetics delta 4000 and a Ace 250 for Tesoro Cibola, and Compadre and have never looked back..I started on Vid machines...and upgraded to dig and beep.

As you can see I have owned a few over the years. And you see what I use now. Nuff said!

Sold my CZ-5 -too heavy-my arm actually collapsed from using for nearly 5 hours straight. Because of locations I was searching, the only deep targets were modern clad-a zincer at 9"for one example. Couldn't believe after 30 years of trying discrimination and notch I succumbed to beep-dig. I go by location and still have a couple of ID machines for toughies. It only took a couple of gold rings to open my eyes.I also found out that after several visits to my sites, the trash targets get fewer and fewer. The other way, they were just building up-something to think about.

Currently using: Vaquero and Compadre.
Last ones used: F-75, Safari, CZ-3D, XLT
I plan on staying with The Vaquero and Compadre. Why? I use what produces the best finds.:tesoro:

I started with the Compadre and moved up to the Conquistador Umax where I am now. Maybe my budget saved me from spending more (except maybe a Lobo) so I've stayed with what I have. My friend that got me interested in this did buy an ID machine along with what he had and not long after sold it. And he's an avid T-hunter. So I guess I learned from his experience. But also, as with certain kinds of fishing in my life, I still get the most satisfaction out of the simple stuff. Maybe I'm lucky to be lazy enough to enjoy it. But I like knowing my machine is no slouch when it comes to getting things done. VIVA LA TESORO!

Sold my Etrac, DFX, F75, and for as much as I like it, I have my GT for sale. My "V" and Compadre are all I need. I like my MXT although it's discrimination is not very good and it can be noisey, but, in a low trash area it's one of the better TID MD's I've used.

I started out with a Golden Sabre II, then bought an XLT. I found I wasn't finding as much jewelry and other non-coin goodies with the XLT so I sold it and bought a Vaquero. Now I am finding rings again and as a bonus, the Vaq goes a little deeper than the XLT.

Well didn't sell my expensive detectors, as I consider that each one has specific usable qualities/specs for different types of hunting.

BUT for beach coin shooting in the summer months, nothing will score better than my Compadre. That little gem is very goo at cherry picking, even in high trash environments.

Traded my DFX for a Tejon, was so impressed with it , I got the Vaquero:thumbup: Just ground balance and away you go! With my DFX I was always wondering if I was using the right program:rage:

sold all mine had them all & the modified cibola is all i need
it gets the job done :detecting:

I started with the ACE 250 (and still have) and let it pay for the Vaquero (my high priced machine) and I'll be KEEPING IT!!!

Yeah, my Tejon actually shocked me the other day when I ran a comparison with it against my XT-70. The Tejon picks up a flat button, slightly smaller than a dime, at 8" and registers it as a good target, better than the XT-70. This is in moderate, slightly iron rich ground. And, the Tejon's disc 2 was set just above foil. This time I know what people mean when they've said that the Tejon is a deep relic hunter. I know I'll dig pulltabs and my share of trash with the Tejon, but I've been looking for a machine that will register a good target, like a button or a dime, at 8" with some disc applied and I'm psyched that I finally have one. Oh, it also required that I run the Tejon with a slightly negative gb too, which makes me wonder if ground conditions dictate a rethink of always running a slightly positive gb to get better depth.
