Who says Fisher "F" machines can't hunt in wet salt sand?

This fellow is on a NC beach at the surf line. First he tunes the detector and ground balances in all metal mode, and detects a gold ring buried 7" deep.

Then he switches to Disc, and detects the same ring. You can hear the difference in audio between the AM and DISC.

Audio-wise, it sounds like the detector would hit the ring deeper than that.

Just food for thought.

I'M going RVing at the Beach next weekend with my 75 will give it a run down

It will be a little chirpy, but with a ground balance down in the middle teens it will find some wet sand treasure. Although I have found 2 gold items with the 75 in wet sand, I have just as good or better luck in the dry and its a pure joy to use up there. HH jim tn

Ground balancing over wet salt water sand needs to be done by manual ground balancing, not fast grab. Over wet salt sand (ocean beaches), where it is wet and not the transition area from dry to wet, I've seen typical settings of zero or 1. Remember that there are 5 detent or click settings between each full number displayed on the ground balance. Over the wet salt sand, each little click (detent) can make a difference.

Enjoy your trip! F75 is a very capable detector.

Yes, The 75 cleans house on the dry sand, I normally use a PI for the wet salt sand, for kicks, I will give it a try.

I agree on every point
