Who says air testing is a disappointment?

Steve from Ohio

New member
Since it has snowed and the ground is covered and frozen here in Northern Ohio, I decided to play around with the E-Trac today doing some air testing. Getting ready for trip to Florida so I wanted to get the detector in my mind down pat.

I set up the E-Trac for all metal, manual, set to 23 and started to test some of the targets I had found in the past.

I was getting 16 inches on a walking Liberty half dollar and 13 inches on a dime. That is better than all the other detectors I have ever had and tested.

I am certainly not disappointed with those numbers.

I then did an air test on a silver chain. Hit it just fine at over 12 inches.

If I tested with the coin program and auto mode, then yes, it does not air test well.

But in all metal and manual......look out.

And who said that FBS detectors do not air test well ?

been running in auto +3

im 31 - 2 tones

i would switch between auto and manual. the field i was working sat and sun................i could run manual 27 to 30 and hit some targets - nice strong tones, but when swithching to auto +3...................would not evern get a plib. after that, i tested it most of the day and it held true through out the day.
