Who makes good headphones?

Was thinking about getting some good headphones.

Anybody have any recommendations (Killer B, Detector Pro, etc.)

Was also wondering if anybody had pros's or con's for one ear cup headphones?

Thanks

there are many other headphones that are just as good...Rat Phones, Killer Bees, Detector Pros just to name a few. I would see if there are any dealers near you that will let you try a few different ones and see which one is the most comfortable and where you can hear the detector signal. A local club would be another good source of information as to which is the best for you. Good headphones is a good investment. In regards to the one cup headphones, they are good in snake infested areas or high crime areas. Also, do a search on the Forum as this subject has been discussed many times in the past. Wishing you good luck in finding lots of treasure...Kelley (Texas) :)

SunRay Gold.... Wouldn't trade them for any other. There's been many discussions on headphones here on the forums and lots of personal opinions on different brands. My suggestion is to do a 'search' in the past topics. It comes down to ones own preference, what type of hunting you do, and how much you are willing to spend on a "good" set of phones. Heck, I used a set of cheap Casios ($20) for years when doing playgrounds, etc. and they worked fine. Now that I'm into the deep stuff, I needed a good set and went with SunRay Pro Gold. Now I'm not missing out on the deep targets. Good luck and HH, Nancy

Like Kelly said its been covered before. I use Ratphones. Head phones are a personal thing, what you like I might not. If you can try them on at a dealers that is the best way to go. All the name brands are good . For the MXT get one with a limiter circuit and get a switch for the limiter. On my Rats if I want the limiter I have it, if you get it and don't need it just switch it off. You won't have to worry if you made the same choice.

With my Rats I run the phones wide open, and let the limiter keep my ears safe on pinpointing and shallow targets. Actually I really don't need the volume control. If you have hearing that is different for you two ears get separate volume controls. Rob

[size=medium]by Killer B, and the Pro Gold from SunRay (made for them, I understand, based on the Killer B 'Wasp'). :)

I have owned and/or used just about every mid-to-upper end headphones geared toward the detecting hobby and have found nothing better.

I bought a pair of Realistic head phones at a flea market for .50. They are the best fitting earphones I have ever had. There is no sound in the left ear but to sound in the right ear more that makes up for it. Had opportunities to upgrade but simply could not justify the the cost of a "good" pair. The headphones are from the 1970's

Like Monte, I have used a lot of headphones over the years but my favorites are the Gray Ghost Originals made by Detector Pro. My wifes favorites are the AccuSound headphones sold by Kellyco which are also made by Detector pro the same as is Gray Ghosts. Both are quality detecting headphones with noise limiters and both have great warranties and are reasonably priced. Good luck with your decision. HH Dennis in Idaho

Poptab....My wife and I both use the Sunray Pro Gold headphones. They were the most comfortable in the field and like Nancy said, you will begin hearing those deep "iffy" signals that usually prove to be worthwhile. Comfort is a HUGE componet in making this decision, Try on several ones and you will soon see that they do not all feel the same on your head. The Sunray line of probes are hard to beat also!
I hope this helps, but ain't it fun to have so many choices?

You want something comfortable that knocks out ALL outside noise and can bring out the tiny nuances of sound.....BLACK WIDOWS
