Who Is familiar with the Whites Silver Eagle??

I just obtained an old silver eagle. Can not find any reviews online about it. I know it was a step down from the spectrum eagle but I do not know of anyone who has used one. Just looking for experience from ones who have owned it. I Did get the manual downloaded. It seems to process faster than the spectrum eagle did when I air test and run it here in the yard. Looks like a good coin shooting unit.

I used a silver eagle in the early 90's....... Averaged about 6" on a dime.

It was an excellent coin machine, and I found a lot of Silver coins with mine. Of course that was the early 90's so silver was still in about every place one detected. I believe it capable of finding some missed silver too.

I sold it to a friend of mine when I went the Display forward spectrum model and she still uses it till this day.

I had a 6" coil and the 950 coil.. Use the small coil if you can find one for trashy parks. It works very well. You will love everything except the weight..it's beefy but with the supplied arm strap it's workable for long periods of time. 6.5 kHz if I remember correctly.... The display was a ok in it's day..though with some of todays larger displays you may find that a little less than desirable.

Overall it was a fine Whites metal detector and found a lot of nice coins with no problems at all. See if you can locate a 6.5 KHZ 8" coil.. I always thought that would be a great coil on the Silver.

Good luck with your new to you detector........ I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again as it was a fun to use metal detector. Try to find a wide body detector stand...Their out there and it kept the box up off the ground for early morning damp ground hunts..

My brother has one and has done very well with. Coins....civil war relics. He had an accident and fell on it. Broke the pinpoint switch and has yet to have it fixed. He now hunts with the MXT.

Thanks for the input. It just seems like a hard machine to get any info on it. Sorry about your brothers accident. Better to break a pin point switch than a hip. That would be a pretty easy fix though. Looking forward to more thoughts too.
