Who has the edge over aluminum?

I like the iron seperation of the 2 just was wondering if you can disc out aluminum tabs really well or if there is a specific ID#'s that would tell usually on wine caps or aluminum slaw? I love my deep tech machines but i'm trying to find something that will either id the stuff well or disc it out one way or the other?

I dig aluminum with all machines I've used, some more than others. Some I have used do a real good job differentiating, but still get fooled on occasion. Since the size and shape of aluminum objects varies so much, I do not feel that ANY detector can totally eliminate "coin ID" on at least some of the pieces...

ok good enough, wasn't sure if it were me but yes alot of times i can hear the brighter tone it gives of but alot of times those deep wine caps get the better of me just wasn't sure if the g2/gb had something in it that i was missing?

Watch the ID seems to bounce on the screw caps. I have notice that they will go real high then as a slower pass comes over the target it will fade off. I have seen them go as high 89 and 90 then all the way down to 78. Also, try lifting the coil up and see how far you can lift it, anything over a foot, then guess what you have a screw cap...

Just FWIW -- the deep, smashed wine caps (you mentioned wine caps specifically, amcjavelin) are the toughest ones, in my experience, on a NUMBER of machines...

Ken -- I agree with you that sometimes they "bounce" some, on ID number, but for me, a real deep coin will sometimes do that, too...

I totally agree and think some users think the GB G2's are not that deep but the signals are there they just change in consistency I find at depths from 6" and beyond. On the deeper targets Audio becomes they key for me it seems, I may get a iron grunt but if the high tone is consistently in there I dig.

The GB G2s have a superb and tight Id system in my opinion. No Machine is fool proof and coins are not even consistent targets in every scenario.
I think once some one takes the time to learn these machines (many others as well) and I mean a couple years and purposely digging every target you can stand too until you have encountered each type so many times it becomes second nature. That its better than many, and one of the best multi purpose platforms out there.

After all we are the final discrimination and choose weather or not to dig !!!
