Who has the best price on the Garrett Ace 250's....

All the sponsors have great prices on detectors. I feel that it's the free goodies that will make or break a deal. I turn around and sell all the free goodies on ebay to reduce the cost of the detector. The better the goodies the less my detector costs.

I read somewhere - military & military retired can get it for something like 178.00 ordered by the PX / BX. I haven't confirmed this.

Don't forget to factor in dealer proximity to where you live, backup support, reputation, length of time in business.....etc

Except for the military PX deal, and I assume thats not
available to the general public, the usual going rate
for an online ace 250 is 212 bucks. Almost everyone
has the same price in general. I got mine for 199.00,
but that was before the garrett price increase.
The most I've seen for ace machines was at retail
stores. IE: fry's electronics local mega mart has them
for about 259.00 plus tax.. Not the way to go unless
you are in a hurry. Online, most all are 212.00, and no
tax if you order from out of state. You will pay the
shipping though.. Still less than buying from a retail
store. 178 is a good deal, but if thats a PX, you would
need a PX card or whatever.. I don't think the general
public can buy one there.. May be wrong though..
Anyway, 212.00 is the usual online rate I see. That's
as good as you will get from most places. I just checked
Ron's up at the top of the page, and that was his price..

As mentioned..this is what people call the BX or PX. If you know someone who is currently in the military, retired from the military, a dependent, or a DAV they can order it for you. AAFES (Army-Air Force Exchange Services) is a great place to order from and they stand by their stuff...and shipping is free. If there is something specific a person wants and they do not offer it currently they have a program set up to allow someone to order the merchandise from the company via AAFES. My dad did this recently to get the comp he wanted. Its just a way to save a little cash...but..other sites have deals with a ton of freebies. You cant research to much when it comes to this stuff IMO.

I bought 2 Ace 250's and my brother bought one form this guy in CA. You also get a choice of 5 gifts with it. I got the good headphones + four other items. $212.45 and free S&H.
Detection dot com I guess they are not a sponsor so it is not a clickable link. Just go to detection dot (you know the rest).

Well I figure they have a voice... they do own the board! If they know I'm looking don't you think they'd speak up for a sale?

I'm not choosey about a supplier....I was asking the question so I could buy one!

Jack I just figured I'd give everyone a stab at me as I want to be fair to everyone...I buy about 5- 8 detectors a year as well as test most new ones to see if I'd enjoy them or not. I can't get all choosey as many times it's bought due to opportunity! I sure hope you understand this!

Heck I'll send support....no one's ever asked?

Good point, Nymohawk:

I'm funding my retirement from "Asking for the Order"

I called and checked on this site and I like their deal better. They told me I would not be charged taxes. What I like about it is the 5 free items that come with the 250 (free shipping as well). If you do not want the extras..AAFES is better. But when you look at covers, headphones, re chargers and such it is apparent this is a good deal. Thanks to awhister for sharing his find.
