who ever said reactivity of 3 didn't work for me

It clipped with my settings. Now I was not in heavy iron but it clipped (3) and made targets sound bad..Used 2 and my targets were very clean and crisp. Now I use two tone also and like to have iron vol on at about three and was hunting in 12 and 18 kHz...

Those are some great finds. I wouldn't think to use 3 unless the trash was terrible

Great find use settings that work for area covered.

Good to see you are experimenting with the Deus. I find the reactivity adjustments are not just restricted to the amount of trash in the ground.
It can also be adjusted to match your sweep speed.
You can see my demonstration in vol #7 video on the official XP web site.

I thought I had watched that whole series ... don't know how I missed that one ... but thanks it helps a bunch

I always go on your site to read about your tests on detectors and why to turn the power down when hunitng iron...but sometimes I wonder when you walk past iron and say that it's just iron. I the USA when we do civil war hunting some of that iron are parts of guns or old locks and keys. I do enjoy your website and your knowledge.

You are 100% correct, its lazyness on my part, I can appreciate your concerns when hunting a civil war site.
Here in the UK it can be very differen to the US, when you dig your first iron hob nail from a Roman boot it's quite exciting, there are literally thousands on a busy site, plus lots of nuts, bolts and iron plate from WW1 and WWII, you have to cherry pick the positive targets in between the junk or you will be all day digging Iron.
That's why the Deus is so popular over here, it can deal with the bad and find the good.
