Who Else Is Using Them

Does anyone take pruning shears with them when MDing woods and old homesteads ? I have started to take a small pair of pruning shears with me because it's a pain cutting the roots of trees and plants with my digging tool. Although the digging tool has a sharp serrated cutting edge, I find it a lot easier to reach in with the shears and cut the roots at the edge of the hole.

They are small enough to keep in my junk bag and has made dealing with the roots a lot easier . If you don't like dealing with the roots, give the shears a try, they may be just what the doctor ordered.

Yeah, I always take my little shears with me, really helps with roots. I mainly take em when I hunt the woods. There always in my back pack ready when I need them.

I bot this 'kit' about 15 years ago at a ..ahhh......well, i can't recall where i bot 'em.
Small sportin goods store i think.
Anywho, this was $10.00 then and they still work as good as day one.
The snips are ratcheting type and will cut 1" thick roots with ease.
The saw so far has cut everything bigger than that with ease and is still as sharp as day one.
The carry pouch for this fits on my apron belt or i can put it onto my pants belt.

I'm thinkin, check Dick's, WM or K-Mart.
BTW, yes, they are plastic.
But they have stood the test o' time and use fer 'bout 15 years now.

saves time, and more important makes getting the target "soooooo" much easier. Fits in your back pocket and easy to use.
