My biggest issue with the GBPro is not the depth with the ultimate coil, but learning to listen for the "deep faint whisper signals" and this thing gives those type signals, but you gotta learn to "hear them". For example, the other day I found a very nice V nickel, about 11 inches down. But again, it was a faint, almost higher pitched "whoo whoo" kinda sound. But repeatable, but again very faint.
It was running in disk mode with a setting of 76 on the disc. When I hear these faint signals, I immediately flip to AMM, to listen again, and see if the speedometer gives a higher reading as well.
My BIGGEST issue is seeing (again in disc mode) the 75-78 range and digging lots of screw caps. But when the depth meter on the left shows full bars, or a very strong signal like this, it is always shallow and almost always a screw cap.
Why do I keep my disc at 76? For me, it seems to knock out the majority of pull tabs on the places where I am hunting for old coins and deep silver. The other day, I also pulled an old End cap to an old hand rail in the park, and was a measured 17 inches down. I run the disc at around 38 when hunting in civil war relic areas though.
Listening for those deep faint signals requires some learning (at least for me it did), but it is fun digging something deep like this, as you never know what it is. And it's encouraging, when you dig off a few inches of soil, only to see your signal get stronger and more accurate.
