I have not been here in a while so I am wondering what happened to the Whites forums?

I have no clue but I noticed on the sponsor's list at the top of the main page they don't appear.

Wow never figured that. I guess I am old and out dated but I still like my VX3 with a Sunray DX1 on it.

Whites are no longer sponsoring the forums so out they went. I think the old posts are still in the Main Comparison Detecting Forum so you can post there. Some Whites detector users (present company included) are still lurking there and posting from time to time...

I noticed that also. There was a lot of good info on those White's detector message boards. It's all gone now...

Looks like the beginning of the end.

I worked in the retail trade for almost 14 years. Over those years I noticed that when a company starts to have financial troubles the very first thing they do is cut the advertising budget. Tesoro stopped sponsoring a while back and now have laid off all their employees. Now Whites is not longer sponsoring (Yes it is a form of advertising) so one can guess that their is a distinct possibility that Whites may also be having problems.

I hope not. I bought my first Whites detector a few months ago and I'm enjoying it a lot even with its quirks. I have no idea of the cost of sponsoring the forums here but in my view, not sponsoring them while other competitors are is doing themselves a disservice. People talking in detail about specific machines and posting their good finds and experiences can be a great if not the greatest advertisement tool. I know that when I'm looking for a new machine and want to get an idea of what is out there, the official website of a company will not sway me. The information I find on forums such as these and live hunting videos on the web will eventually lead me to want to try/buy a machine or not.

I hope Whites will stick around. The more choices we have the better.
