White's XL Pro Question

I just picked up an excellent condition White's XL Pro detector. This machine has the following info on the sticker located in the battery box.

Does anyone know the significance associted with the "XL Pro Spring Spec" wording?

S/N: 2037-0301-004
XL Pro Spring Spec
800-0301-SS?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Regards,

Keith

I have wondered about that also. Mine says Xmas Spec. I have also seen a post that the first 4 digits of the S/N is the date of manufacture. The first number is the year it was made, 2002 and made on the 37th day of that year. I don't know if this is true or not, just what I read.

Thanks for your response Ron.

Yes, I have read that about the first four digits in the Serial Number being the date of manufacture.

Looks like the other nomenclature correspond with Spring Special and Christmas Special. Do you know if your XP Pro was originally sold by KellyCo, I'm fairly certain that mine was. Perhaps this wording has to do with certain promotions or sales on the part of KellyCo or White's.

I don't think there is anything significant about this wording on the factory sticker, just interesting and something that I wanted to learn more about.

Regards,

Keith

Mine would have been made the first week of May, 2005. There doesn't appear to be any kind of promotion associated with it. Perhaps spring and Christmas were the only special events.
