Whites Water Detectors

planchkr

New member
I live in Calif. Called Kellyco to order a Whites Beach Hunter.
Kellyco advised, do not buy, the Whites water detectors do not work on the West Coast. I own a DFX which works fine on land and some shallow water hunting. Can anyone tell me why a metal detector manufactured on the West Coast does not work on the West Coast?
Thanks for the help.

Contact Whites. They are very helpful. As much as they want to sell detectors, they do not want to sell one that will not work for you.

The west coast beaches contain more black sand so it harder to work with.

The best detector in the world is no good if it is not good for you and your intended use. When I was shopping for my first detector they were very helpful. Compared various models for various uses and included the older machines in the discussion. I was looking for a used machine to keep my entry cost down. (Ended up buying new but that, as they say, is another story for another day.

Again, contact Whites. Their toll free number is: 800-547-6911

But all the black sand on the west coast will play havoc with the BHID.
