Whites TRX Failed

I have had my trx back twice now for repairs , i travelled 20 miles to the site , started the hunt got my first signal and my trx squeeled like a pig and promptly died.
New battery too so don't say check the battery. I only had this thing a few months so i am not too happy.. Any reliability issues with this does any one know. ?

With your bad experience, I bet a call to the factory is all you need to do to get a new one. 1-541-367-6121

Worth the try.

First failure I have heard about. Should have no issue in getting it replaced, just make the call.

I've seen that happen to one of my hunting buddy's TRX too. Sounds like someone's choking it. I like Whites and owned Whites detector but I prefer the GP over it.

I prefer the trx over other pin pointers , the other famous probe seems like a limp dickey compared to the Trix , i hate it though when some thing bought new fails after a few months of light use. I expect my equipment to have Rolls Royce reliability . I have never had any other whites equipment fail though
the reliability is good from what detectors i have used such as the dfx and xlt . I had a quick look at the circuit board inside the trx and it looks like no one on the planet would be able to fix the board other than the manufacturer / designers maybe. The board uses surface mount components and is tightly packed with components / chips etc and probably uses lead free solder just to make the board even harder to fix. I would say they probably just replace the complete board when a faulty trx arrives at there workshop i could be wrong though.

I have only had my TRX for few days but like it so far. I have only used White's Bullseye pinpointer before this one. Definitely a step up.

You said 'battery' and not 'batteries' so let me ask if you are using a single 9 Volt battery or 2-AA batteries?

If it's one 9V, are you using the 9V adapter piece to hold the battery in position and used in the right position? I have come across a couple of people who had difficulty by not doing that. Personally, I prefer the 2-AA alkaline batteries as that's what most of my detectors use.

Just a thought as I know it HAS been a battery issue with two people. Not now and they totally enjoy their TRX pinpointers as I do.
