i am thinking of buying a sierra madre and was wondering peoples thoughts on them that own or have owned one i live in northern nevada and have a mxt300 that i love . the ground is HIGHLY mineralized any input is much appreciated
 
Or, if you want to hunt in a mn motion-based Discriminate mode, share with readers what you use now for search coils, and the types of sites you plan to hunt as well as what you are looking for.

PS: Better weather is coming and I hope to be in Northern Nevada soon, myself, to work several ghost towns and other sites. Oh, and it will not be, or ever be, with a Sierra Madre.
 
I have been a Sierra Madre user now for 5 years with the 25" Magnum Force coil. I use it mainly for Privy hunting in upstate New York along the Mohawk valley region with a rich history dating back 300 years. It is a [ all metal machine ] BB,Tack,Foil,BobbyPin,Hot Rock just to name a few. No tuning these items out. What you have in mind, there are machine's made for gold hunting. The Sierra Madre is a hard machine to understand with a very unstable threshhold...
 
i am not hunting gold but large caches and i guess my fear is will it hit alot on hotrocks because there are a ton where iam hunting
