White's service is Great!:clapping:

Just wanted to say a big thank you to White's service Department! I was having a problem with my DFX. I was getting false signals and just couldn't get the detector to settle down. Even my DX-1 probe didn't want to work! I got it back today total time was less than 2 weeks. My DFX, now is running smooth and DX-1 works perfect! They went thru the unit and re tightened all grounds, adjusted trimmers. Even replaced the LCD window. Total cost $0.00:clapping:
I have a pin pointer out to another detector company to be repaired and they still haven't touched it. They said to call back next week!:rage: Been three weeks now! They also charging me for repair and it has a lifetime warranty, except for the problem it's having. Vibrating motor went out!

Curious because I only know of one pinpointer that's had some issues with the vibrator going out, and it had to go to the AZ company that made it for them. A really hot PP when tuned right, but some vibrator issues.

Mail me at: MOnteVB@comcast.net

Craig, Glad to hear you got it back that quick. White's is a great company and their detectors don't break too often. I guess thats why the quick turn around (not too many to repair). I'm getting ready to head for the desert or dessert which ever comes first. Maybe after dessert I can find a couple of nuggets. See ya.....Rick

Monte,

That would be the Treasuremate marketed through associated professionals of Treasurewest and mfg by Tesoro Electronics.

The Pinpointer with issues is the Cheaply Constructed Kellyco AutoMax.... nothing but problems in quality control etc.

You guessed it right Greg, it is the Treasuremate!:goodnight:It was a good pinpointer, until this happened! I bought it before my DX-1 and was quite satified with it! The problem is the warrenty says "lifetime limited" Didn't read the fine print, that the Vibrator motor wasn't covered! Cost $9.95 for repair and extra for shipping!

Kellyco, so there's no reason to add the comment about them. I knew it was likely the Treasure Mate because, while it can provide some decent performance when tuned properly, it does have some weaknesses, such as the little vibrator that goes out easily and creates a charge for the consumer.

Craig responded to me via E-Mail yesterday as I wanted to discuss it with him, but since you, and now Craig, have mentioned Treasure Mate I guess it's no big deal for that talk to be public, either. I was sort of hoping they would have found a 'fix' for that by now.

I subsequently spoke to Treasurewest about the Treasuremate. The Treasuremate is designed by Tesoro.

The Vibrator is powerful and when in the Vibrate Model, one should turn the Treasuremate OFF via its rocker switch. Detectorists leave it in the On mode and it keeps vibrating on their equipment etc. Thus your putting on years of use in a three hour period.

So turn it off when your not actively trying to pin point a target. Otherwise, leave it in the Audio Mode.

The Manual Adjustments make for a deep detecting pin pointer, not quite up to the Uniprobe Pulse but close. It can be adjusted the given ground conditions and sensitivity. I use my Treasure Mate by turning the two knobs CCW. .

Get yourself a Treasuremate, Uniprobe, or Sun Ray Probe for maximum performance. Merlins are nice but a small probe, and SIZE does matter.

As far as Kellyco Auto Max, it is what it is.... fragile Tips etc., purchased very cheaply. Ever Everytime it breaks like their Gator Tool, the user has to pay for the Shipping to Florida and S&H charges of about 15.00 (varies) to send it back. But, with a price tag of up to 99.00 on their Eagle Headphones and a cost of about 3.50 a unit from Asia with matching quality.... go figure.

Get yourself a real set of headphones from Sun Ray, Jimmy Sierra Maxi Phones, Gray Ghosts, Killer Bs, even Detector Pros integrated Headphones with Uniprobe built in.

Good things are coming....

Greg, which pinpointer would you suggest? I got the automaxv4 when i got my DFX. It is way to big and construction quality as you mentioned does not seem anywhere near the retail price tag they put on it. As far as the other items they "give" you when they sell a detector....I told them to keep them when I got mine! They did knock off about $20 more bucks. The automax pinpointer is so big it constantly falls out of my treasure pouch. I am going to make a special loop for it to hold it in. But I will probably replace after this season if it does not fall apart first!!

DFX- Gregg (with three Gs),

Your coin count targets are definitely growing.

I have to recommend two.... the Uni-Probe (deepest) pulse unit of all the competition. Available in a self contained unit or Headphones. Pricey though at over 300.00

The second and my choice because it Integrates with the DFX/MXT is the
Sun Ray Probe... avoids cross talk. $179.95.

Honorable Mention goes to the White's Bullseye II.... just plain automatic with decent construction and you gotta love that White LED Light at Night. The Bullseye II has a retail of 119.95 but is bundled sometimes with a NEW Pro Series Detector.

Email me directly if you have any other questions.

Hope you received the 'promised training' and 'support' after you purchased from my friends at Florida.

Thanks for the response. A little pricey for me now, but maybe next year. i am also thinking about an Excaliber for beaches, any feedback on that unit would also be helpful. Once the DFX pays for itself i am going to look in that direction. As far as the Florida company goes, I have not dealt with them to much. I have been getting my best advice and help from the DFX classroom. I know others talk about another DFX forum which i also am a member on, but I get my best answers right here in these forums, great guys in here!
