Anybody deal with them before? My D2 coil is falsing terribly( yes I tried every possible reason) and I need to send it. I live in N.H. so this would be my service center for my region.

Yes, they are fine and will even talk to you if you call them, unlike the factory. Give Paul a call at Centerville Electronics 703-367-0837 and talk with him or the owner Bob before you send it in. Or email them bobnpaul@centrevilleelectronics.net

Hey Doug I have always been able to talk with someone a the factory, for service, a tech. for help or if I just have a question. Great people!

I must have hit them during a bad time cause my experience with their CS was a 2 out of 10. I have bad luck so maybe that was it, but it was really really BAD.

As Frank ...I have always been able to talk to someone at the factory.. if they were busy they called me later in the day..

only deal with the White's Factory in Sweet Home, Oregon.

Yes, I live "out west" so they are close, but I have used White's detectors since my first in the summer of 1968 and, while there has seldom been any repair needed, it has happened a few times. Never, and I mean NEVER have I had a problem with the factory repair service or any communication with them about any repair. That's 47 years with White's detectors, and .... Never a problem!

Is the east Coast outfit bad? I haven't a clue as I haven't dealt with them, but from personal experience, I'd contact the factory and get the coil there for repair or replacement.

Factory Phone number is 541-367-6121
If it is not your only coil go for it. It will be 2 weeks in travel time and about 2-3 weeks turn around time. Don't count on getting it back in less than a 4 weeks.
VA is 2 days from Philadelphia via Fedex ground. If the coils is under warranty and bad, VA will do the same as the factory, send you a new one... but you will probably have it a lot faster.
Good luck with your service experience which ever you choose!

I bought the coil used from a Forum member. I only had a chance to try it out weeks after buying it because of hot weather and too much going on to detect. I tested it out inside as soon as it came, it falsed but thats common for any coil to do inside so I thought nothing of it as It still picked up the test signals. It wasn't till I got out with it that I noticed something was wrong. I will send it to Whites and see what the outcome is. If Its going to cost me too much $$ I would hope that the person I got it from makes good on it because thats not fair to me, I contacted this person and explained the situation, he said he had never used it after buying it from a reputable forum sponsor. I wish people would at least test things out before saying its in excellent condition and selling it. As soon as I buy anything I check it over new or used. You can't just go by what the seller says. I learned my lesson…. test outdoors asap!

Ya I think I'll stick with the main factory.

If you go back and look at my for sale post it states i used it 1 time, and it worked fine..i bought the 10x12 sef so no longer needed it..you received it on june 25th..and now 45 days later it has an issue..and you hope i make good on it if whites doesn't? Re: D2 coil

Got the coil today. Tested it and it works and looks great! Thanks again!!

I did not mean to come across harsh, I just didn't get to really use it till some time later. I just seem to have bad luck lately. I purchased another used coil many months back and it was defective right away and It was an aggravating situation to say the least. You must understand my end of this. Here I am with a coil that I have sent to Whites that most likely has no warranty. So If it is defective Im crossing my fingers That Whites reputation holds true to me as well and I won't be out $100.00. I have been on this forum many years, bought and sold. I have been detecting even longer, I know how to handle my equipment properly. I did nothing to this coil, I tried using it and it did not work correctly. apparently the issue is one thats common as I have read on every forum out there that it is a known manufacturer defect. I apologize if you think I'm trash talking, that was not my intent. But look at it from my end. I sent the coil out today 2 day Priority. Crossing my fingers.

i apologize as well,i was doing some reading on the d2 coils and people said they worked fine and then the next time out started being eratic,i used that coil once at the local school for about 4 hours and it worked fine, but maybe i had the sensitivity set low or i just got lucky...i would never sell something that i had knowledge of being faulty..i have all the faith in the world that whites will take care of it.. my brother bought a used v3i once and it was having trouble,it turned out to be the coil..it was out of warranty but whites not only replaced the coil but went through the whole machine at no cost..awesome service..if whites does not take care of it i will refund your $100..

I have known and been a customer of Bob's since 1980. No complaints from me.

I very much appreciate you being an honest forum member. I sent the coil to Whites. They received it Monday and I just checked with them. They already shipped a replacement coil. Once I receive it I will post some great feedback for you and Whites. I would be glad to do business with you again anytime!

Thats great..whites is awesome....and thanks for the kind words..i would do business with you as well..

He sure is! Luckily for both of us Whites replaced the coil with a brand new one...outstanding service!
