Whites' return of a Bullseye 2

I knowingly took my chances with a Bullseye pinpointer purchase last November, having read about the switch failure on many of the units. Loved the pointer and of course last week the switch-glitch came to visit my pinpointer.
Back into the original box and into the mail on Saturday and when I went to my mail-box yesterday (friday) there was a brand new Bullseye jut waiting for me.
Great turn-around time Whites!!!!
A company can be judged as to how it treats its' customers after the purchase.
Does anyone know if this new model has had a switch modification to ensure longer performance?????

I've been using a bullseye 2 since they came out and never had ANY trouble with it.The only mod I've made to mine is,on the end of the probe,I dipped/coated it with the rubberized stuff for tool handles. This keeps the hard plastic from wearing thru. HH Bob

Bob,

Great idea on the use of the rubber coating. Does it change the sensitivity? Ah, who cares, if it does I can also peel it off. Again, great idea. I have one for you now. I was looking on Ebay and they have a stand that clips on the main shaft next to the handle, so when you set your unit down, it's not sitting in the dirt or sand. I made the same type of stand using PVC connectors for sprinklers. Once you see the stand on Ebay, you will get the idea on how to make your own. I just painted mine with crinkle black paint....looks good too !!!

I had the same problem with 2 Bullseyes. After that I went with another brand which has no switch. It is too bad because I really liked the Bullseye while it worked. When they go back to the old toggle style switch, i will consider another one.

My wife and I have went through 2 of them we are on our 3rd I put ours in a zip lock sandwich bag and knock on wood we have not had a problem sense Just put the probe through the bottom of the bag and use an zip Tye around the bag an probe to keep it place if the bag gets old replace it works great the switch get moisture and dirt in it I toke one apart to find what was going on and that is what i found they are a great company they replaced any way.Hope that helps

I had the same problem with mine so I called whites and they changed it out.(Great company) The second one did the same thing so I started checking around on the modification fourm and other places to see what others did.I found a post where a guy took his apart and and used WD40 on the switch so I thought I would try it.I sprayed some in a lid and took a very small screwdriver to dip in the WD40 and drop it on the switch and work the switch to get it inside.Be very careful and use a cloth to protect the rest of the board.Do this a couple of times and wipe clean,be sure to work it in the switch.I did this about a month ago and mine is still working good.I do not know if this voids the warranty but I was desperate as a pinpointer is a must use for me.BTW I love the bullseye ll pinpointer, thanks whites and thanks to whoever wrote the post. HH BOB

I am having the same problem with mine, I have had it for a few years and have lost the battery cover and the box it came in, would they still take it back?

absolutely nothing to lose by sending it to them.
Three bucks in stamps got the job done for me.
I am pretty sure a nicely written note describing the problem (switch) will be sufficient for them to see to it that you are a happy White's customer for life.
