Wonderful story Brad . . .AND a great find ! My father also introduced me to detecting when I got an entry level machine for christmas around '72. He didn't MD himself but saw the natural hunting instincts I had so he introduced me to detecting. Since re-starting a couple years ago I quite often look up after a nice find to show my dad and say "thank you".
