hi all im in the market for a coin detector and i am undecided can i have some feed back on this model the good the bad and the ugly thanks MM

A good light detector that can be had for a few hundred $$$$. I personally would save some more $$$$ and go for the 6t. But that is just me. I bet there is quite a few people out there that kick butt with the IV. The key is spending time with the detector. Learn what it is trying to tell you. Whites would never put a bad product out. Again my personal opinion. If it says Whites, it will find coins. Search through the forum and check out what people have said about the Prizm models. Especially the 6T.

I had one for a while with the 8" coil. Positives - accurate target ID, decent depth, light and easy to use and I liked the ID tones. Negatives - no smaller coil available for trashy areas, target/retune response was a bit slower than I am used to or care for, and I'm not a "notch" discrimination fan, I prefer the infinite adjustment of a knob. All in all though, it was a pretty good little detector well suited to coinshooting parks, tot lots etc. The word is that Whites is bringing out a smaller coil for the Prizm series which should be a help in heavier trash.

If it's in your budget I would buy the 6t. Then in a couple of months buy the smaller coil.
