I would have to agree.... The Prizm II has the same HP as the other Prizms. The Prizm II at $250.00 and the Prizm Line in general replaced the Classic ID, so White's brought that White's Technology as far as Target ID went down to a more affordable basis, coming out with a detector that was not only lighter weight, but very selective with an improved Pin Point Mode.
There are differences however between the Classic and Prizms starting with their frequency. Classic 6.59 kHz v Prizm 8.2 kHz. Both model lines have their strong points. If you do searches on the various forums you'll educate yourself and learn.
The Prizms represent White's Latest Technology-Models but there are aspects of the Classic line that I'd like to see incorporated into future models.
Regarding your Prizm II and the other Models, if you OPEN up your Discrimination Zones, you will achieve greater depth and signal REPEATABILITY on Deeper Silver which can often Phase Angle ID in the Zone 1 or Iron. Coupled with the Loud Signal Alert.... you'll open up a deeper level of coinage.... but, be prepared for a 'busier' experience as far as the amount of signals.
One of the things I miss on the Classic, particularly the III and IDX Pro was the ability to dial in just enough discrimination to IGNORE small ferrous. The Prizm knocks out LOW and HIGH Iron in Zone 1, so there is no fine tuning per se.
Another strategy is to hunt in the all metal mode after you've first hunted an area in two different directions..... The Third Time you hunt the sector, use the all metal mode and focus on only the deepest coin size targets.... you'll be surprised what you can hear as the all metal is a single channel v. discrimination which uses two channels of fast motion filters.
