whites pi pro headphone mod

Thought i would share my own mod i did on my whites surf master pi pro headphones. First the ear seals started tearing from age than the rubber pieces tore loose on both sides of the ear cuffs that the head strap attached too-- making the headphones useless. I looked up a new set of headphones and was not willing to pay the 150.00 smackers for the same quality of headphones. So i looked for something that would be suitable for a headset mod that would be easy to change over but still be sturdy and be comfortable. I know they have mods that people have done with the P E L T O R 3m 105 but they still look cheap and are still pricy for the work that have to be done to mod them. I looked on e-bay and found David Clark aviation headsets that pilots use. They my look heavy but there not. THe first step was to gut the dc headset and then take my old pi pro headphones apart. The DC headset came with a mic boom that i plugged with a plastic grommet .46 cents then i used the dc bracket that held in the speakers as a template so i could fit the pi speaker in the new headphones (trimmed to size with some cutters) I then ran all the wires through the grommets and then soldered back my wires i had cut and then waterproofed them. I also added more insulation for more outside noise reduction. Pretty simple to do. The best part was the headset came with gel ear seals and can be replaced easily. Everything costed under 27 dollars headset included. SORRY NO PICS STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THAT FROM MY MAC

Looks Good, those are the old DC H10 headset, High dollars in the days....Nice Job.
