Whites PI Dual Field

I'm interested in the Whites PI Dual Field for beach hunting, but I reading that it may not be good i dry sand. If so, does anyone know why? Looks like a great beach MD. Any comments would be appreciated - Thanks

Hi Mike
Not sure where you would have gotten that idea, but as far as I'm concerned the DF is the deepest machine out--in any ground. Like any detector though it requires that you not automatically turn it up when you want it to perform. It also has good audio for a pulse and this allows you to knock out more junk than with most PI machines. I've got two and don't plan on selling either.

HI CJC
I am getting ready to buy the DF PI also. I have your books by my bed and have read them about 5 times each. and i read a few pages every night before I go to sleep. My Question is when your finding gold at the limit 18 inches or so can you tell its gold or is it just a break in the threshold.
Thanks SO much....................... Jerry

Thanks for your feedback. I read comments in personal reviews saying, again Im not sure why, that you should not use on dry sand. Maybe because of the depth of the MD?

I also have 2 DF's. I just commented to my wife this past weekend that most of our good finds were with the Pi"s as opposed to our VLF machines. Are you using the shaft stock as it comes or have you modified it in any way? I'm thinking about going with a Anderson straight shaft and the weight for the coil.

I tried a few times to order youir book o the Surf PI Dual but not having any luck. I keep getting a error which states "default mail client is not properly istalled".

I use the DF but I save the dry stuff for my Sovereign my only reason is I don't want to dig all that trash in the dry... I save the DF for the water and wet sand where there is less trash... thats probably why you are hearing negative stuff about it...

Makes sense. I have a GT as well, also an excellent MD.
Thanks for the feedback
