Whites on the Today show

They were searching the beach with a couple of white's detectors and found a nickel and some pull tabs, it was short but neat to see White's on the tube.

And I guess you noticed the White's "finds" aprons on both of them! What bothers me is after they showed that double-handful of gold rings the one guy had, everybody & their mother will be in the market for a 'tector! SHEESH!

That's what I said on Whites Main forum, that it woud be neat to have a detecting TV show but then everyone would be out there.

Metal detecting involves time work and initial investment. Very few people get past that stage I think. My detectors are definitally not paid for yet with finds but I love the hobby and it never gets dull. Beach hunters have it way too easy anyway.

I agree that most people that go out a get one will try it for awhile then give up. I have a friend that has had a MXT for five years & he has only been out a few times. He just will not put in the time to learn the machine & when he goes out with a 9.5 coil on & hits a trashy area he goes nuts.
