White's M6 and depth.

Maybe a little more detail is needed. Depth for what and where? Most any detector with the biggest honking coil will go deep on a coffer can or car rim. Are you most interested in coins or relics? What type of soil conditions?
Happy Thanksgiving!

It also depends on the soil. My 4X6, depending on the location, coil goes as deep, if not deeper, than the 950 coil in the soils of Oregon. In some cases, a bigger coil causes loss of depth.

Don't be tempted by too large a coil......large coils will go deep on larger objects but loose sensitivity on smaller items.A great coil for the M6 is the sef 8x6 butterfly coil which has great depth but also great trashy area capability.

I am in central Indiana with good black dirt and also clay. I mainly look for coins and jewelry. I have found clad coins at 7" but most I find shallower. Probably found 500 coins this summer but NO SILVER. I have the 950, 5.3 and the 4X6 coils. Just wondered if I should be finding coins deeper with any of those coils.

With the stock coil, I have found a couple of dimes at 7-8 inches. I've never found a dime deeper than about 5-6 inches with the 4x6. If you're hunting mostly public areas, don't expect to find a lot of silver. Knock on some doors on older homes and you will be amazed at how much silver you find. Trust me, you're not missing any silver with the M6. If you haven't found any, it's because you haven't had your coil over any!

I pulled a 51 rosie from a measured 11" in my mild soil with the stock 950 coil.I tend to run the gain hot.Great, simple, deep machine.

I found a foil ball about 7 inches the other day. I thought it was a pendant initially because of the way it was folded up. I had the 950 coil on

Another vote for the 8x6 SEF coil.

I have found the SEF 8x6 coil to be almost or as deep as the 950 coil in my dirt. Trade off is better separation and excellent balance, seems made for the M6.

Ditto: and more stable in harsher soils.

The 6x10 dd coil get decent depth. Found a quarter at the park at around 8 inches. Good separation also and pinpointing.
