White's IDX Pro

I purchased a used IDX Pro To compliment my XL Pro! The only thing I'm don't care for is the All-Metal Self Adjusting Threshold.
To me it makes pinpointing with the standard 9.5 pro coil a little more difficult....I guess i'm used to the no motion pinpoint of the XL Pro.
Any recommendations or advice.....It sure would be nice if there was a trimmer pot inside to slow down the sat speed...

I believe Mr. Bill does this mod, check it out. I like the S.A.T. speed on my IDX Pro as it give an indication of depth on deeper targets. I use the 5.3 Black Max coil and pinpoint fine with it in disc. mode.

Randy,
I've already have the parts and the knowledge to do the mod. No need to Pay
for something that you can do yourself...

What mod are you talking about? the addition of an external G/B and Thresh.adjustment or S.A.T. speed switch.

I can do the G~B and Tuner Mods. But is there a trimmer pot to adjust the sat speed?

Like I said before.........Mr. Bill does this mod (sat speed) on the Classic models, you might contact him.

Gentlemen...may I present the 4900/SP3(Sierra Pro) with 3 position SAT toggle...
Just acquired this and in very good condition to boot. Anyone ever use one of these? Made in 1988 and ended shortly thereafter. Adjustable tone knob on front of the control box.

i have had 2 idx-pro's ,one modded and one used ,both worked great, still own one as a backup to an mxt. There should be absoulutely no problem pinponting in either mode as the target is always dead center of the coil. best of luck with your's.

I don't find it to be too fast, but I do think it is easier to use when a 6

including one with a toggle to alter the auto-tune feature.
Monte what does the SAT switch Mod do compared to the stock detector?

don't have it now. That, plus age perhaps, isn't helping me remember the exact difference in performance. The best thing to do is to shoot an e-mail to 'Mr. Bill' and ask him about the SAT feature control he can add.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with the auto-tune speed on the Classic series, but I also usually work a 6

I have the Classic 3 SL with the SAT mod that Monte use to own. When you pull the mode change trigger towards you while pinpointing you can hover over your target longer before the signal dies out! It's a 2 position toggle switch.Toggle to the right is factory SAT.Toggle to the left is Moded SAT which lets you hover over your target longer before the signal fades. It's just about like a non motion pinpoint but not quite and it works Great!!! Hope this helps!

I was told by a Whites service Tech That "Quote" You can either increase the resistance of r32 or increase the capacitor value of c16.
Not much help to me as how to install it!

Below was my question I asked him through an email..

I'm enclosing some photo's of the IDX Pro circuit board just in case it will help you when you return
my letter. To help refresh your Memory, I would like to install a switch to either (Turn Off the SAT) or at least (Slow it Down)[/color][/b]

the R32 is circled in Red and the C16 is circled in Blue

An increase in performance in the disc mode in what way? Could I please have a little more detail?
