Sometimes asking new prices for them. The down side is the economy is in the dumps people hurting, money is tight for the working man.
Something you are going to find is anything associated with finding Gold is going to be very expensive now, new or used. These items will typically have no more material or improvements made in them than before the rise in Gold prices but you may well end up paying near or new price for an older machine just because it's related to finding Gold. I can not find it on the Internet anymore but I seem to recall, in it's day, a GM-2 went new for about $399 and a GM V/SAT went for about $499 and I've seen both machines these days go for that or better used. Back when I bought my GM V/SAT, I paid about $250 w/free shipping and thought it a bit steep then but this was when it was only rumored that Gold was going to rise and I wanted one. Between that time and when Gold did rise, I picked up a couple of coils, one that came with a lower shaft and coil cover, that were just like new at prices considerably lower than what prevailed then.
I personally believe Congress is going to sell America out to the free loaders and more debt so the Dollar is going to become absolutely worthless but till then, you may come across someone who is on hard times and get a great deal. I hate finding deals on some ones bad times but we all may be screaming "Uncle" pretty soon, letting our machines go to have something to eat or to keep warm.
